musician & drriifter

My name is Diana 👋🏼 I am a touring musician, performer, educator, visual artist, thinker, and this year (2018) I am a full-time traveler. Not “homeless.” Quite the opposite. I’ve spent the last 10 years on tour, unknowingly honing my ability to find all the beauties of home without the physical location. I turned 30 above the Atlantic Ocean, started my non-profit in a Nashville coffee shop, and did my taxes in a Madison hotel room.

As my touring life grew more exciting, the transition from home to work became more challenging. The time spent re-acclimating didn’t seem valuable or enjoyable, so last year I decided my life would be easier without the transition. Now home and work aren’t separate, it’s all  just “me,” what I love and feel called to do. (I’m just grateful there’s also money involved.)

As a student of life I enjoy wringing every moment dry of all possible meaning and feeling, and as a devoted teacher I feel the deep need to share my life and serve others. My career has offered me an expedited life experience with a surplus of these moments, and equipped me with lots of information that I hope can be beneficial to all. Many of these are useful hacks and tips, but they’re also portals to beautiful life-lessons and philosophies that I have so much fun deciphering.

2018 will take me to Alaska, Europe, the great American west, south, northeast, and various other spontaneous destinations. I’ve packed up and stored what little I do have, and will spend the year perpetually “on the road.” Both of my bands will be touring extensively, and I’ll fill in the little bit of time in between with my own adventures. I invite you to join me on this journey and share in the amount of discovery and learning that this year will bring. Traveling is truly a metaphor for life, and I’d love to share it with you.

Yay! Thanks Kate! Your FB post last week came amongst lots of other “women in the industry” convos and situations… it inspired me to add a post about that to the cue. Keep an eye out!

Call me a Drriifter! You are an amazing woman and this is a wonderful blog – thanks for sharing and thanks for opening up. Consider a brief tour of the southeast U.S. or maybe just a long weekend with someone special (cheap flights from Nashville) for some sunshine and restful beach time in beautiful Tampa area before the year is out.
P.S. What platform are you using for this blog? It’s very nice.

Looking at the calendar as we speak! Tampa is on the short list! 🙂 Thank you so much Michael. I use wordpress.org- it’s a lot to learn but I think it’s worth it!
